Improvement of the qualification process of Bauschinger parameters via cyclic bending tests

Especially in forming operations with complex stress-strain histories, the implementation of kinematic hardening laws, which are used to map the Bauschinger effect, allows an improvement of the prediction quality of a numerical springback analysis. The cyclic bending test can be used to emulate local forming histories of a serial production process and evaluate the applicability of identified model parameters prior to its actual application.    
The goal of this research project is the qualification of this validation methodology. For this purpose selected stress-strain histories of a serial process, which includes draw beads, are emulated via a cycling bending operation. By the evaluation of the springback prediction in the laboratory test and it’s comparison with the results of the serial production process the transferability of a model rating in the cyclic bending test to an industrial sheet metal forming operation is guaranteed.
