Project Status: finished
In order to reduce a car body's weight, in recent years, the development of high strength steel have shown great promise due to their excellent combination of high strength and ductility. The aim of the research project is the characterization of the mechanical behavior of different multiphase high strength steels regarding the evaluation of remain formability in dependecy of non-linear strain-paths as well as the deduction of a reliable failure criteria for FEA. For this purpose geometrical different primary and secondary specimens are applied in order to describe variation of material failure from ductile to brittle fracture. In this context the results showed a ductile fracture field.
