Modelling of Laser Beam Forming on Extensive Plates II+III

Modelling of laser beam forming processes- such as laser beam bending- is still limited for large plates to very basic models and to the FEM simulation of simple geometries and laser beam paths respectively. The purpose of this project is to tap the full potential of the existent techniques of FE-simulation and to add adequate algorithms utilising the incremental nature of laser beam forming. Beside the significant reduction of computation times this approach delivers the possibility of applying special FE-programs optimized for forming processes and being therefore most efficient.
