Zero-defect laser beam welding of zinc-coated sheet steel by frequency modulated, resonant stimulation

In order to guarantee process-sure and high-quality weld seams when welding zinc-coated steel, it is essential to allow for the degassing of emerging zinc vapour. Zinc evaporates at 1665 °F 907 °C and thus turns to gaseous state even before the melting point of steel is reached. Emissions of fused material and heavy spatter formation within the welding zone are the result of an inadequate degassing facility.
