Sensor based UV laser therapy of inflammatory viral and premalignant skin diseases

Project Status: finished

The general goal of this research project is the targeted sensor based treatment of inflammatory, viral and premalignant skin diseases using Excimer laser radiation with a wavelength of 308 nm. A 3D surface sensor will be developed to detect sick parts of the skin. Furthermore, an automated handling system will be built that uses the sensors information to determine the irradiation strategy. This strategy will then be enforced using a scanner unit to apply the laser beam to the diseased skin.
