Mesoscopic modell to simulate size effects in microforming

The transfer of knowledge from conventional metal forming process into the field of mi-croparts is, because of so-called size effects, difficult. Forming small-sized work pieces sometimes results in different material behavior as well as higher friction. This affects the process forces as well as the material flow. In order to consider the different behaviour, a new so-called mesoscopic modell has to be created. It takes into account existing material inhomogenities and varying middle grain size or flow stress.
